they were made in the image of God,
Is that the god with a penis or the god with a vagina? The nether region of the Judaeo-Christian god is usually wrapped in a toga but He/She has both long, flowing hair and a hefty beard. AFAIK lobsters and squid were created by Kali and Ganesh did a good job too.

N/or nipples!

What would nipples have to do with it? Those aren't a byproduct of being born.

No, but why would Adam have 'em? E/specially if he was created first? What use were they to him?

It's not like they're useful for other men either.

Hello CC

Nice Observation.
👍

But isn't Science the Wrong way to Understand Theology?

U know i wondered who passed on the ' X ' chromosome to Mary the Virgin.
Holy Ghost eh?
👻

Ps - In mathematics 1 x 1 = 1.
But in religion,
1 loaf of bread x 1 divine touch = Food for All.
✌️

I used to make Fun of other Peoples beliefs.
Found them soo stoopid & dumb.
Still can't resist sumtimes.
But I'm learning...Dignity!

SideNote - Hello Alan
😊

I'm fond of Kali...do not consider Her a divine goddess or nethin.
But i like Her.
Coz She's Black!
✌️

Because God grew them as clones in his spaceship with Martian DNA that he had spliced with chimpanzee DNA from earth, 10,000 years ago. He obviously needed a way to impart nutrients into the body, and also a way of self replication so the umbilical chord was crafted. The human skin is not very good at osmosis of nutrients.

Maybe.
Certainly the bible says that they, and hence we, were made in God’s image so artists would assume they were created with a navel and probably that god also had a navel.
However, simpler to assume the artists used human models when painting.

God created man in His own image, so God must also have one...

Adam was both the prototype and the customer for Eve. Always a good idea to allow for a few possible developments, and if you claim to be omniscient you can build in a bit of redundancy to save re-tooling later.  But if you really are omniscient, why bother with a prototype?

Reminiscent of a famous retort.

Pompous bore haranguing Eric Morecambe: "To succeed in show business you need three things...."

Morecambe: "If you've got three, you'd be in a circus."

I think the context of image is wrong if I paint a painting and someone asks who did this work I can respond by saying this is my image I created it. God created all and we are a part of that image not a painting but the real deal. why do men have nipples you could have just googled it we are basically all equipped with this feature as a fetus and nen still have them as an after effect of the sex selection. So men have them in the event we became female.

Difference between creating your own  image (any signed painting) and creating something in your own image (a self portrait).

And I think the question relates to your first quote. We and all were made in God's image. God's image of the world?

Yes I know that all the embryoes and maybe even fetuses start out as females.
That's why I say that Eve must have come first.
"And I thought that men always come first, Ted". Ye's, Dougal.
I once heard a biologist say that U are either a male or U're not.
If U have a Y chromosome, U're a male, else U're not.
You see if God created adam and eve they will have all the traits of the human so as to be able to reproduce themselves. As for the artwork that we see it has been created by people that never witnessed adam and eve so I guess the artist just presumes how they may have looked. Maybe Adam had no bell button or nipples. I bet he had his wedding tackle.

No.

It really isn't meant to be complicated.
He looks like us.
And that's what makes it interesting...
We are made in the image of God

A wedding tackle U say, JT. Wot's dat den? Maybe U should explain that to the children.
I'm just 'avin' a laugh, mite. U don't have to reply, unless U got something, really witty, already.
I don't think that little leaf would have had much use for Adam when he got excited. They must have been the for runer to the thong.

God did not create Man, in his image. Man created god, in his image.
That's blasphemy I think.
