BLC 1 Signal from Proxima Centauri?
« on: 15/05/2023 12:40:01 »
What do scientist here think of BLC 1, radio signal from a moving object in Proxima Centauri?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BLC1

Maybe a USAF secret probe or someone forgot to turn off his phone?

Why does SETI not establish Radio Telescopes in Deep space?
Or on the ' Other ' side of the Moon?

That would require us to go back to the Moon first, which isn't something you can do on a whim.

If you put a radiotelescope on the other side of the Moon, there is no line-of-sight back to Earth, so no easy way to relay back results for detailed analysis.

In practise, various countries are putting relay satellites in orbit around the Moon, so they can relay messages from experiments on the other side of the Moon back to Earth (eg China's Yutu-2 rover). If it is simultaneously visible from Earth and the Far side of the Moon, then it is in view of a conceptual radiotelescope there.

But perhaps technology will come to our aid - various satellite operators are using optical communications to carry the increasing flood of data collected from space, including LEO broadband satellite constellations, NASA missions, and military satellites.

We should have had a Base on the Moon by now.

Does United Nations have a Space collaboration unit?

Why does America & Russia(also China now) gotta do all the work n spending.
Hopefully, SpaceX will change it All, for Good!

If we  put enough stuff on the far said of the moon, it won't be the far side of the moon anymore.

Radio Telescopes on the ' Other ' side of the Moon?
There is an even bigger source of Radio-Frequency Interference than the Earth, and that is the Sun.
- Half of the time, the Sun is above the horizon for a radiotelescope on the far side of the Moon
- Although the Sun doesn't put out the narrowband signals for which SETI is often searching

Other strong signal sources that will be in sight of the other side of the Moon (at least sometimes):
- Space weather observatories positioned in orbit around the Earth-Sun L1 point
- James Webb Space telescope positioned at the Earth-Sun L2 point

True, but for on the "near" side of the moon, the earth is in line of site 100% of the time and on earth the earth is in line of site 100% of the time.

So having the sun in your eyes only 50% of the time looks like a really good option.
