Help Me PLEASE!!!! - Viscosity
« on: 22/04/2004 15:46:28 »
I searched everywhere for a viscosity value for glycerol but can't seem to find one.

Does anyone know of a good website which would have it?

Thanks

I have an old CRC handbook, 57th edition. It lists glycerol, CH2OHCHOHCH2OH.

The absolute viscosity of 100% concentration, at 20 C is 16.7 poise.
The relative viscosity, to water, at 20 C is 1759.6.

1700 times more viscous than water - that sounds a lot. I know it's quite thick and stodgy but I wouldn't have placed the figure that high. Amazing
