Do Fish Fart?
« on: 03/07/2004 15:03:52 »
Got this question from the grandson and I have no idea.  I have never seen any unexplained bubbles floating to the top of my tank.  The only bubbles I've ever seen come from their mouths.  So, do they burp, but not fart?

LOL...excellent question Nancy......there is a way to find out if worms fart, and that is to place them in a bowl of flour and wait for the puff !!! [:D]

So there you have it.  Not only do they fart, but I got to hear it as well.  Amazing.

We covered this story about FaRTs (fast repetitive ticks) in herring for the radio show :

YES!  I've actually seen a fish fart!  It was a little goldfish, and it pooted little bubbles out the correct end for that sort of thing.

I didn't make a wish, and it was so small, I don't think it smelled at all.  It was quite unusual though.
