What is the effect of composting things instead of land-fill?
« on: 08/05/2008 08:28:46 »
Rob Beavan asked the Naked Scientists:
Hey guys. Great show. Helps with my daily commute.

My question is this : have any studies been carried out in regards to the effect of reducing the amount of items going to landfill that now get composted or otherwise disposed of ? Surely there will be a knock-on effect?

What do you think?

Presumably they both give rise to large amounts of CO2 and methane?

Although isn't composting a rather good way of recycling your food
    and other rubbish??

Rosalind Franklin was my first cousin and one my life's main regrets is that I never met this brilliant and beautiful lady.
She discovered the Single DNA Helix in 1953, then it was taken by Wilkins without her knowledge or agreeement.
