These are good, especially the more unconventional.

We are actually hard wired to see "faces" in things, by that i mean 2 dots over another dot. It is where the devil et al come from, the beast and the predator, your hard wired self presevation instinct.

This interview about how the brain recognises a face that was aired in the latest episode of the Naked Scientists Podcast may be of interest to readers.

In the above, the researchers obtain neural recordings from an epilepsy patient undergoing studies ahead of brain surgery. Some of the electrodes are in a region called the FFA (fusiform face area) at the back of the brain. Intriguingly, when this area was stimulated, the patient saw a face on top of whatever he was looking at.
