This week is, of course, the last radio show.

Not to put too finer point on it, our programme was supported by COPUS at the Royal Society which allocated a small amount of money to pay for travel expenses and other consumables, including this website. No one in our team is paid for their efforts or time. We do it (did it ?) because we believe in it.

However, this grant ends on March 31st.

As COPUS has since been dissolved there is no prospect of further funding from this source. Unfortunately no offers of funding have been forthcoming from the BBC, so we cannot continue because we wouldn't even be able to cover the cost of the team's travel expenses, let alone those of our interview guests.

Derek Morrison, director of e-learning at Bath University, clearly thinks that this is a sad state of affairs :

What does everyone think we should do ?

Does anyone know anyone that would be interested in taking on this show ?

Have you tried contacting National Public Radio (NPR) in the US?  They're a science/culture based national radio program and the intelligent elite in this country are obsessed with Europe.  I bet they'd snap up a UK Science radio show that was on the BBC.
