Geezer....it's also known as a euro connector which might explain why you've never heard of them...though wikipedia says it's known in the US as an EIA Multiport !

Ohhhh! You mean it's a Syndicat des Constructeurs d'Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs. You should have said that in the first place.

So how come our Bush radiogram didn't have one?

Doesn't your Bush radiogram still use a cup and piece of string ?

NO - that gear only gets out of the closet when he plays rugby. Geezer still uses apiece of tin suspended between electrical contacts.

Wos 'e laying around when he found it?

I think it's a trivet, or at least a part of a trivet. If you have three or more of them, you can set any size of hot cooking pot on them so you don't wreck the French polish on your diningroom table.

Oh, Geezer....  I'm disappointed.  I show you a photo of a precision tool, and you want to set a pot on it!!!!

That must have been Mrs. Geezer using your account!!!!

Bummer! OK, well, in that case, it's a flatness gauge thingy. You put it on a surface and stick feeler gauges under one of the feet until it stops rocking. Pretty obvious really........

Geezer...  close, but no cigar...  this is certainly one that you should be sinking your teeth into a bit more.

I know...I know...it's a watermelon holder !...those watermelons are large and require a precision tool to stabilse them  whilst masticating !.....Yes..I am sure I am right and look forward to my prize.

I think Geezer was closer with his second guess than the watermelon holder.  But, he still needs to set down and think about it a bit more.

As a hint.

These tools have separate tasks...  but you might use the first tool in conjunction with this second tool (which also has nothing to do with watermelons or kettles).

Well, the second thing is a watermelon plane, so I have to conclude the initial object is a thingy for detecting highspots on your watermelon so you can plane them flat. It would probably work on wood too.

Neither object is sharp, nor contains a blade.

Well, yes, but that's only because you removed the blade when you took the piccy.

The second object is not a plane...  nor ever was a plane.

In the Geezeresque style, your hints are above.  Read my comments carefully.

At risk of you crying foul when the answer is revealed, I will say that a blade is not part of either tool, and was not removed for the photo.

I think RD is onto something there!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is another tool you might use in conjunction with the previous two tools.

Obviously, a two-man (or two-chicken) watermelon slicer. (I've heard they have some really big watermelons in the Pacific Northwet.)
