To prevent extinctions and maintain nature’s life-supporting contributions, biodiversity conservation and restoration must be integral to the many uses of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems, and coupled with an expanded and better-managed global network of interconnected protected areas designed to be resilient to climate change. You have a game that stops you at every corner. A game you accepted all by your own, thinking it 'fair' knowing that you too could play it. The earth was infinite, and if you couldn't stand it where you was you could always move somewhere else. The inequality that existed was good for you, because you would excel in this game. It also had protections, getting stronger the more you raised in your society. All connected to the profits you might reap.

It was a recipe for extinction.
