Let's look at something really humorous

The problem with writing about our 'climate' future becomes one of us losing our chance to change it. And the reason for it is the way global warming stays, for centuries at best, longer at worst.

Together with the odds for it leading to a tipping, in where 'nature' takes over. And looking at the way greenhouse gasses seems to be accelerating naturally it's not that far away. So I set a date to 2040, and assuming we keep on like now then 2040 should be where you wake up to it. And by then you won't change a thing.
