What's even worse about that USDA report is how it rely on industrial farming practices, the conveyor belt principle, Synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, direct gene manipulations, and of course fossil fuels as its base

Not doing it would be looking down into an abyss, as losing industrial farming is losing around 50% of humanity, that used to get feed by it. And that is also ignoring everything surrounding it, as global warming, water, aquifers and desalination plants as well as topsoil, fungus, forests, urbanization's, eco and biodiversity.

Don't look at it as me white washing f.ex oil and gas. Neither your government. I'm just pointing out that laws, regulations and your way forward ultimately is a job for your government. And, that if they fail in it you blaming oil and gas doesn't change a thing.
