And if you now wondered about plankton

https://www.e-education.psu.edu/earth103/node/648

Plankton does two things well. They make oxygen, somewhere between 50 to 80% of all oxygen existing, and they store carbon in those shells, well, as long as they still have them.

Feel free to call it a double whammy.

USA, global warming, Mr Trump

"The Trump administration is moving to shut down two NASA missions that monitor a potent greenhouse gas and plant health, potentially shutting off an important source of data for scientists, policymakers and farmers. President Donald Trump's budget request for fiscal year 2026 includes no money for the Orbiting Carbon Observatories, which can precisely show where carbon dioxide is being emitted and absorbed and how well crops are growing. "

First USA called it a political matter that they thought they could 'vote away'. When that failed, as nature, and facts, doesn't give a f* for those votes they went to censuring people and satellites collecting data.

Where I expect EU to make very weak attempts of taking up the slack created by it. Because no politician on this f*ng Earth is ready to tackle what's coming for us. They consider themselves chosen to protect what we have, our current status quo, and so do a lot of other people, climate scientists as Mr Mann included. Human behaviors, and education does not change it.

So 2040, just wait for it

Where I am getting very tired of studies ending like this

" Whether the 2025 event signals the first of future failed upwellings warrants investigation through enhanced monitoring, predictive modelling, and targeted research on the interactions between oceanography, ecology, and human resource dependence in tropical upwelling systems."

as it implies that we can't even guess why it happens.           Calling it 'Climate Change' ...

Btw, looking at https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2024/11/241113161013.htm

This is my prediction

" Some foraminifera have begun migrating to cooler waters in an attempt to adapt, but environmental changes are occurring faster than they can keep up with."

Time scales and so called 'migrations'

Keep getting it right, doesn't I?

Now, if this was some impossible rocket science I would be able to preen a little. But it isn't. it's just extrapolating on what happens around us. No rocket science to it.

Migrations of animals versus us homo sapiens are two different things. You f.ex. run to New Zealand thinking yourself ahead of the times, smart, wealthy and 'adaptive'.

Plankton doesn't.

So the migration's of animals are more or less inside Earth's time scales. fitted to it through histories of natural change. Can you see a difference? And they don't 'plan' for it, like we do, migrating. Where this, global warming, is something new pushed on them by us and our time scales.

They don't have a chance. Those that 'migrate', or not, will mostly be those finding little to no changes, and if changing doing so slowly enough. The same with that as it is with 'weather' versus 'climate'. Or local effects versus global averages.

Everyone setting their own beliefs on what's happening to you.

"Countries across the Western world are over-indebted. In theory, they could grow their way out of the debt or rein in their fiscal deficits. But the richer countries have a miserable recent growth record. And as the fall of French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou this week shows, there's no public appetite for austerity. The siren of inflation calls. "

It's about a lot more than electing a new government, GDP's or failed economical visions. It's about global warming, water, topsoil, infrastructures, industries, eco and biodiversity, forests, wildfires, glaciers, the Arctic, Antarctica .... and  .....

Get it?
