I've got a snail who's decided to sleep stuck to my window at the moment...

it could be cuz there are lots of poop at the bottom of the container....

Its probably due to moisture,the underside of things would retain the morning dew longer than the top side exposed to the sun , so being in the shade or underneath may prevent them from drying out.
