How does acid effect plant growth?

If you were to fertilize a plant with, say, coca-cola, how would it effect the plant's growth?

Are you serious ? Have you seen what cola does to teeth and car paintwork ? That stuff's like painstripper !

Yes, but coke has got a lot of phosphate in it (as phosphoric acid) so it should help the plants to grow better !!!

Quite funny that the title for the thread is "how does acid affect plant growth"

I had visions of some hippy type applying LSD to spice up the foliage in the garden a bit !

Then you might be interested in the recent news (posted in the medicine questions yesterday) that cannabis is soon to be released for medicinal purposes in the UK. At the moment it is still outlawed. I guess you were only growing it for 'research' purposes ?!
