I took these photos from my window on separate summer evenings. Can anyone tell me how these fantastic cloud formations were created?

The first is an example of crepuscular rays - God's fingers - shining through the cloud from a setting (or rising) Sun. This phenomenon, which is an optical illusion, is usually seen in reverse with the Sun in a higher position and the rays spreading beneath the cloud. Here the low position of the Sun in the sky is illuminating the cloud from below.
