I've tried a few different multivitamins, and they don't help with my pois symptoms.  I've also tried a couple different anti-depressants, they made my pois symptoms feel worse.  For me, if this is the case, I think it is a hormone issue, I'm leaning towards getting a hormone test from my doctor.

For the last 3 years, hormonal testing has been encouraged as a priority. It made a huge difference in my POIS recovery.

I think im cured!!!

well not 100% but i feel like my POIS is gone 90%!

I have no idea how it happend, but i started feeling better 1 month b4 my 20th birthday.
I had POIS for the past 5 years, it was hell as yall can imagine, 5 years of stress, depression, fatigue,
low self esteem etc.. o nnd a shity sex life

The reason i say i feel 90% better its because i still have brain fog all day everyday.

I guess the less i thoght about my condition the better i felt, was it all in my head?

I dont know, i might be fooling my self that i am better, i still need a few more weeks and see what happens.

Well we know that pois isn't all in our heads, that it's real, but some do have it worse than others, and I can say one thing for sure, that fear and stress contribute greatly to suffering. Once we know that we are not alone and that there are others around to help look for a solution, a big load can be taken off of our shoulders. Stress no only affects our perception, but it ca alter hormonal balances. Eliminating it permits us to take a more proactive approach, an aggressive stance.

Glad you are feeling better. Keep on keeping on.

"...a forum like the one for POIS should feel duty-bound to unify its members into one strong lobbying force," continued Ainasor. "Their members should be writing letters to every public and private sexual health researcher, relentlessly, until someone publicly decides to champion their cause."

I just wrote to The Kinsey Institute. Anyone else interested/willing to write to sex researchers? Chip in for a Journal of Sexual Medicine ad for research assistant(s)?

I'm just a bit confused.  Is this feeling 90% better after orgasm? or just in general?

limejuice - when you use noriethisterone how many orgasm do you have after one dose of noriethisterone.   I am asking because, I tried levonorgestrel and i didnt feel any usual first pois symptoms after one orgasm, i figured a second one wont hurt, so i tried 30 mins later and that orgasm just tore me apart and it seems the symptoms were worse especially the flu like symptoms, i was hot all day.
I remeber you saying the first time you tried it not using enough noriethisterone you felt wierd, so i was thinking may be the second orgasm was just to much for one dose of levorngestrel.
I will try it again but this time around with just one orgasm.

A second immediate orgasm while using noriethisterone still creates worst POIS symptoms.

I'm going to make a determined and assiduous attempt to discuss POIS with my consultant endocrinologist, I did mention it briefly, but it's difficult to explain POIS when in POIS. Perhaps he may have PHD students with research interests that tie into POIS, worth a punt.

Even the thought of a second orgasm in succession sends shivers up and down my spine, just two orgasms in a week after a period of 3 months of abstinence has left me in a severely debilitated state with all the POIS symptoms present.

so true, how hard is it to think and then even harder to talk and explain what we've got?! :(

In sympathy I can only advise you to explain as much as you can Green, and take it easy on yourself.

Stress might be a factor. The famous Britisch writer Jane Austen died because of the dissaese of Adison. That's a dissease when the drenal cortex doesn't produce enough cortisol and aldosterone. She died in the 19th century, so no worries. Nowadays that can't cure Adison, but they have a treatment. Adison is rare, 120 per million people.
During a stressful situation into the adrenal glands normally cortisol, which enables the body to deal with that situation. In people with Addison's disease can be very serious stressful situations lead to a crisis of Addison and a shock.

With POIS you don't get a shock. But an O might be a stressfull situation for the body. So I am in for the cortisol theory. Does someone know which vitamins/pills you can use for a shortage of cortisol? Something you can buy without perscription. We all have too experiment a bit. Offcourse we have to be carefull. I ordered Fenugreek and Mecuna Pruriens.

P.S. Or is the opposite with POIS: drenal cortex  makes too much cortisol after an O?

Gents, we're coming out of the Dark Ages of POIS!! How exciting!

This is great, but there are some things that I'm not so sure about such as:

Some experts believe that relational and psychosomatic issues play a vital part in POIS.

Sure, many doctors think that, but are they really experts? It's a little misleading.

Take antidepressants for the mood irregularity.

I don't think there has been one positive report here with antidepressants. Has there?

I've taken 2 different anti-depressant(zoloft and cymbalta) and both made my POIS symptoms worst.  So I know they're not the answer.  Multivitamins and a few herbs didn't work as well.  Today I went to my doctor and got a hormone test.  Will get result by thursday.  I'm just hoping to find something.

Doctors are experts in matters of health.

Vasopressin has recently mentioned on the forum as it it released during sexual arousal and plays a role in Orgasm.
We have no knowledge as yet whether it directly effects POIS either way,
but this study in mice shows how Vasopressin/DNA can be effected by early trauma.
http://www.modernghana.com/lifestylethread1/1188/16/

You could also google Vasopressin and Oxytocin to find out there role/links in memory function.
