I would like to update and confirm that GINGER kills my pois.
Even if i get pois after an O, i am able to have an O later on and "prepare" with ginger and then get away from the pois-state that im in.

Ginger is antiinflammatory.
It works best if i take it on an empty stomache maybe 15 minutes before an O. I also take it after an O.
Home made ginger tea works i believe, raw ginger works, and capsules work.

Been a pois-sufferer for at least 10 years.

So heres one testimony about GINGER killing pois.
Try Ginger capsules, ginger tea, raw ginger (just chew and get that stuff down with water) before an O.

Best regards,
akt1

I have 40 caps of ginger. I'm testing this during 20 days.

Here is a discussion where people have managed to cure their general anxiety with magneisum , vitamin bs and an amino acid complex:
Google "Amino Acids and Magnesium cured my Anxiety

the guy recommands Taurine + Vitamine D + magnesium, exactly what I think.

Taurine has made such a steady influence  for POIS in general, should we make a special "Taurine" thread at POISCenter, com? (It is difficult to make POIS-specific threads here at the University of Cambridge NSF).

I made one but are only 5 or 6 to have a good improvement with taurine. A lot of poisers said me taurine didn't help with their symptoms.

B_JIM, TRT ALSO HAS ONLY A FEW! AND ALSO MANY WHO DON'T AGREE AS WELL :)

SO MAKE MORE TAURINE THREADS! OR EXPAND ON THE OLD ONES! (COPY THEM TO A NEW THREAD AND ***YOU*** RESPOND :)

 Hi guys.

I'm 31 years old and i'm suffering from Pois since 2012(Porn addict/compulsive masturbator since when i was 14 and up until 2013)

Pois for me appears whenever i have precum fluid, not only if i get have orgasm.
I get really fast an intense jittery feeling(i guess adrenaline) like i've drank 4-5 cups of coffee (i'm taking luvox/fluvoxamine for OCD which blocks the enzyme for caffeine metabolism so i've not drank coffee for about 8 years nor i'm drinking caffeinated beverages). Then my eyes itch and i start to sneeze.
 2-3 days later i'm like a retard,can't think,can't speak,bad coordination..irritable,completely withdrawn etc
I sometimes get a feeling words on my native language its like i use them for the first time..like forgetting if its the correct word i want to use.

The worst of all is that for the next two weeks, whenever i get upset or really excited suddenly if feel an internal rush that makes my head really numb, like i'm about to have a seizure or start having uncontrollable movements on my face(i don't hve them just the feeling) and i have trouble speaking and articulating. If i'm pois free i don't get that no matter how upset or excited i am.

Antihistamines make me feel better but they don't prevent the crash days later with the extreme brain fog.

All started while asleep, a stubbing short headache woke me up and i felt like i had a stroke.the next day i woke up with HPPD symptoms(was smoking salvia up until about six months before the headache incident)and pois.

Any word of help about what could help me ease my symptoms?

Just some thoughts here fellow pois-sufferers.

Niacin is said to be both antiinflammatory, and act on GABA.
In that case - in order to kill pois - you need;
1. Antiinflammatory
2. Something that stimulates GABA

My main treatments are:
Niacin - to kill inflammation and stimulate gaba (to sooth nervous system)
Ginger and GABA - also to kill inflammation (ginger) and to sooth nervous system (pure GABA)

I would also like to say a big thank you to Waldinger for publishing an article on pois, whcih can be found just by googling "pois". That means that one that suffers from pois can share this article with medical staff, as well as with partners. Hopefully it will lead to a breaktrhough.

Best Regards,

Akt1, I can add that taurine gives me a serious improvement. And taurine has a gaba-like action.

Thanks mate.
Pure gaba made a big difference for me.
Will try Taurine as well.
Antiinflammatory along with gaba is the approach ive concluded from reading here and on pois center.
Thanks everyone.

Hi,

Has anyone tried Now Foods - True Calm?

It has a pretty potent gaba-formula... :

True Calm:
Niacin (as Niacinamide)                                   45 mg
Vitamin B-6 (from Pyridoxine HCI)               8 mg
Magnesium (from Magnesium Bisglycinate)    6.5 mg
GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)           200 mg
Glycine                                                           200 mg
Taurine                                                           200 mg
Inositol                                                         100 mg
Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) (Root)             25 mg

Ive had great success with that in combination with Ginger..
I take Ginger and true calm before an O.
And True calm after when needed.

Do not want to take out anything beforehand, but I Did not get any pois today after 3 O´s...

Porn addict/compulsive masturbator:
At that age, you can only be addict/compulsive if its a problem for you. Just sayin'.

Pois for me appears whenever i have precum fluid, not only if i get have orgasm.
Also reported by others.

Ok, this is really serious. You have symptoms of SSRI withdrawal. "Stopping fluvoxamine abruptly may result in one or more of the following withdrawal symptoms: irritability, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, nightmares, headache, and/or paresthesias (prickling, tingling sensation on the skin)." Source:NAMI --> www nami org/Learn-More/Treatment/Mental-Health-Medications/Fluvoxamine-(Luvox)

OK, you have to take this extremely seriously. You may have Serotonin syndrome or Neuroleptic malignant syndrome - both potentially fatal. All SSRI's have potentially fatal side effects you need to know about, and you need to know about the others too. Here they are: en wikipedia org/wiki/Fluvoxamine Make sure you scroll to the part where it says

"Serotonin syndrome — a potentially fatal condition characterised by abrupt onset muscle rigidity, hyperthermia (elevated body temperature), rhabdomyolysis, mental status changes (e.g. coma, hallucinations, agitation), etc.
Neuroleptic malignant syndrome — practically identical presentation to serotonin syndrome except with a more prolonged onset."

You should never take other drugs while treating anything with SSRI's. You've completely compounded the problem now because your HHPD could be due to salvia or it might be due to the SSRI. You MUST now assume its the SSRI because of the fatal implications. If the HHPD symptoms are due to the slavia then they wont kill you, but you'll be gambling with your life. Frankly, 6 months is way too long to expect hallucinations from salvia. You have serious SSRI related symptoms and you need to start slowly withdrawing from them. Seeing as you are already suffering from withdrawal symptoms this will require very careful planning, but if you withdraw very very slowly you should be ok. It may take up to 18 months.

You need to get expert professional help immediately. Also make use of this site madinamerica.com/ for support.

NICOTINAMIDE is the ONLY form of Vitamin B3 effective in treating POIS and is available from Natures Own brand. NICOTINAMIDE is the active or amide form.

The inactive forms of niacine or nicotinic acid DO NOT WORK with POIS. The inactive forms are worse than useless because in addition to having no effect on your POIS, you may experience the known side effects, including "flushing".

The 45 mg of Niacin (as Niacinamide) will do nothing for your POIS except give you flushing.

It's like if niacine triggers degranulation of mast cells but only histamines.
On the contrary, degranulation after orgasm might cause an extrem degranulation of histamines and other molecules causing Pois symptoms. So niacine might work like a vaccine.
Maybe this theory is stupid, it's just my idea of the day.

I doubt it's anything to do with gross systemic release of histamine. That is better known as anaphylaxis.

Thanks, Chris. Reminds me: my impression of desensitization treatment for POIS (thankfully discontinued by Dr Waldinger) is that it risks potentially fatal anaphylactic shock.

Testosterone patches work for me. I've posted often about it since 2009, so you'll need to do a little digging here. Impossible to summarize in one post.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Have many here been tested for low t?
or low gaba? (if its possible to test that..)

I never usually post on forums such as these, but such is the profound effect one of the recommendations on here has made on my wellbeing I feel like I should.

My back story is that I've been suffering from POIS ever since I started masturbating, about 7 years now as a 22 year old and constantly felt frustration at how it created almost a black mirror of my personality. The symptoms were mental: brain fog for days, general fatigue and that lack of mental sharpness which has really effected my ability to socialise at what I would regard as my 'best self'. Firstly, I identified the No Fap community as one which tried to address the issue and made me realise that their are many like minded individuals suffering through the same experience. It helped me understand that it was not simply an issue attached to myself.

But the only common solution was as the name sake suggests 'No Fapping', no orgasm and since the ultimate aim is to be with a partner having fun without worrying about the effects of an orgasm, it felt like a counter intuitive plaster over the problem that could not solve much. That being said, I persevered, creating like others have done a schedule of orgasms based around my schedule, preluding an exam period I had enough incentive to go cold turkey for those times and my exams results have been substantially better that what they would have been based on this intervention.

Yet, I know I needed to address the true root of the cause of the problem, obviously the issue has limited public exposure but from stumbling across this forum I thought I would see if there any promising suggestions. Now I must say I study economics, I'm far from scientific so I don't completely understand the neurological effects going on in my brain by any means post orgasm. What I do know though is that after seeing two people helped by taking ginger around the period of orgasm I decided to have a ginger tea pre-orgasm and post-orgasm to see what impact it had on my mental state. The effects have been profound. Usually I feel lethargic for days following two orgasms in two days, their is no possible way in which I can feel positive socialising in that period, I fall into a discontent state and berate myself for making the decision to orgasm. However, in the last week, I feel no different following an orgasm, my mental state quickly recovers and I can talk to friends just as I would pre-orgasm. I can't tell you how elated that makes me feel, it's a life changing insight. It's early days but I now see a future where I can have sex with a partner as much as I want and completely enjoy the experience. Wanted to post here to give more strength to the 'ginger' fire, the more exposure and the more people try it out themselves, the more it may help many POIS sufferers. Thanks for reading.

I know there are several genie reports here on this topic of POIS. I might as well contribute if anyone is interested I but yet understand what this all really means.
I do know about the histamine (undermethylation) though, when I certain foods like yogurt, my lips looks swollen like I have an allergy but I know for a fact its not allergy but histamine issue. It would go away after a few hours, same thing with water kefir, pro biotics, and banana.

Beautiful.
Lets get rid of this disease mates!
Thanks to Vincent m for introducing the ginger remedy.
I would like to add; ginger does not always kill pois 100% for me. In that case, i take ginger one more time before another o the same Day. That can get rid of an eventual pois-induced state. Also, i take pure GABA before and after o - that and ginger kills pois very well i believe. Gaba calms the nervous system and I take it whenever needed the days after o, in order to get rid of the sick pois-created anxiety(ies).

Hi everyone - I joined this forum 6yrs ago, but took a 3yr break out of frustration with how dysfunctional this place can be.  At one point it was probably also unhealthy how often I was on here, scanning for cures, and buying supplements ppl would recommend after having only tried once.  Yes, my name is a copy of b_jim, one of the founding members - in hindsight I feel silly about copying him.

I'm writing because I would like to add to the growing list of members who have found significant relief with GINGER.  (fwiw I'm taking it in pill form)

Granted, I'd like to put out a qualifier as I only have 3 wks of experience with it and admittedly some products which initially helped me didn't withstand the test of time.  But so far, the lethargy, anxiety, brainfog, etc have all been sharply reduced by simply taking it around the time of the O.  I will provide a follow-up update, whether it be good or bad, when I have more data points.

Thanks to Vincent M (for discovering it), akt1 (for heavily promoting it), & awpirates321 (for providing additional confirmation).
