The literature seems divided on this topic. Some sources suggest that these large, armoured herbivores were herd animals while others dispute the claim, citing as evidence that fossilised groups of the animals - supporting a herd existence - have not been found. I don't know whether this latter point is true or not, but I would be wary of using a lack of evidence (the absence of a fossil) to support a positive claim. To fossilise together a group of animals need to die together and remain in-situ for sufficiently long for the fossilisation process to preserve them. That's a sequence of events the probability for which is lower at each step.
