There are satellites in orbit which are geosynchronous- so they have the same orbital period- but have different eccentricities.

As has been pointed out before, this is incorrect. The correct answer is about 0.0549.

You didn't even bother to finish this calculation (which would be 4 x 10-9). This is, as expected, extremely incorrect (the Earth's orbital eccentricity is actually 0.0167).

I actually do see the error in my previous calculation. I should have divided Mars' orbital period by Phobos' orbital period, no the other way around. This results in a predicted eccentricity of 0.000464. This is still highly incorrect (Phobos' orbital eccentricity is 0.0151).

Why don't I do another calculation to further seal the deal, this time for Pluto and Charon?

Pluto's orbital period is 90,560 days (2,975.28 months), so each month it moves 360/2,975.28 = 0.121 degrees. Its satellite Charon completes an orbit every 6.387 days (0.2098 months), so each month it moves 360/0.2098 = 1,715.92 degrees. So using your equation, the predicted eccentricity of Phobos' orbit is 0.121/1,715.92 = 0.0000705. The correct eccentricity for Charon is about 0.0002. That's yet another nail in your equation's coffin.

Your equation doesn't work. At all.

Where Vm - Orbital velocity of Mars.
Vd - Orbital velocity of Deimos.

The orbital speed of Mars is about 16488 hours.
The orbital speed of Phobos is about 30 hours.

30/16488 = 0.0018
