Scar formation needs to be quick and resilient, so all the complicated stuff about color matching, hair follicles and sweat glands takes second place to getting the collagen to stick and developing an adequate blood supply.
You can see what look like suture lines on Samantha's scar, running perpendicular to the axis of the wound. Normal skin is under tension so to prevent the wound splitting and deepening it's quicker to throw a few sturdy ropes across than to attempt to build a complete new surface.
