ty for your responses i am completely frustrated, and tired of doctors patronizing me and telling me my symptoms just don't make sense. i will read more on here and try to make sense of what i am dealing with, as it seems most people on here have to diagnose themselves with the help of an understanding physician.
I'm just wondering, does the pituatary gland or the pineal gland produce any chemical or hormone in our brain/body? It would make sense to know because I think orgasm is somehow connected to the pituatary in our brain, which causes symptoms in our brain.

Quote from: opeth41 on 07/08/2010 05:07:23ty for your responses i am completely frustrated, and tired of doctors patronizing me and telling me my symptoms just don't make sense. i will read more on here and try to make sense of what i am dealing with, as it seems most people on here have to diagnose themselves with the help of an understanding physician. With one of the doctors I went to, I kicked him squarely in the nuts, and once he caught his breath, I told him "Don't worry, it's all in your head!".... at least that's how it played out in my mind as I left his office. It's tough. What seems to work best, is inform yourself as best you can, that's where this forum helps a lot, and then go to someone with perscription writing abilities and insist that they give you what you want. Whether they believe you or not. We often have to find one or two perscription writers and then means to really have them evaluated properly. Among us here, there are various who have good analysis abilities or doctors who have these abilities. The most typical example is the one where an evaluation of hormone levels fails by a regular doctor just because all levels are in legal areas. They forget, or don't have the training, or don't want to risk going beyond that, in taking into consideration relative imbalances (even though all is withing range otherwise). You have to go loaded with arguements and twist their arms. They work for us.It would be great to have a career where you don't have to do your work, but get paid anyways... SIGH.
Quote from: GoingCrazy on 06/08/2010 16:10:10Thanks for the reply, any luck?I had an UTI 2 months ago. I then had an antibiotics. A week later I had complaints and the replacer of my urologist gave me antibiotics. Later I heard that the urine was clean. Since then I drink cranberry juice and a tablet. The time is too short to say if it had effect. Time will tell.
Thanks for the reply, any luck?
did it again today! []
so demografx, what is your next step in finding out why your prolactin is very high, after they found that your pituatary gland is fine?
My prolactin was sky-high, 1000% higher than norm. Pituitary brain scan revealed nothing, so I did my own research with endo's blessing. Simply reading wikipedia, it pointed to Rx drugs as the usual suspect, naming Reglan, which I was on for a decade. So I got off it and my prolactin went from 90 to 9 (normal)!

The time is too short to say if it had effect. Time will tell. With regards to this, Im also combating UTIs. Ive come to the conclusion by elimination for me its excessive Candida thats causing the abnormal amount of UTIs Ive been getting over the past few years. My GPs solution to combat this so far has only been limited to the use of Trimethoprim and I dont really want to consistently use it as its not a long term solution and I assume over use is going to kill off good bacteria also. Im looking to starve the Candida and eventually, hopefully reduce it to an insignificant amount, my current lifestyle probably causes an excessive inhabitance and possibly an overgrowth, causing my UTI problems.Changes will include a consistent manageable change in diet, reduction of high carbohydrates and lowering sugar rich and processed foods, depending on the treatment Ill be getting due to my low testosterone condition, Im putting my faith in getting some sort of treatment to either get my normal by exogenous or even better, if the doctor finds an underlying cause seek to get that fixed so my test levels fall into the normal range, this in turn will hopefully bring some vigor back into my life allowing me get back into weight training and other sports.Ill keep a diary of things, hopefully I can report back with something positive in a few months
