Is this forum getting too influenced by politics.

Aren't there many people posting here, who aren't really interested in science.  They only come on here to make political points.

Tell me about it. Pandemics are however political, and interfere with everything.  Still not an excuse to close down discussion.

We (the moderation team) try to avoid that.

Yes, there are indeed too many of those people here (those posts tend to be relegated to "New Theories" or "That CAN'T be true!" so that the actual scientific posts aren't muddled).

Unfortunately, there seem to be some people who can't tell the difference.

Am I to understand that you have posted this then retroactively deleted the posts by myself, kyrptid, bored chemist and others?

No, he moved them. Check out your prior thread (the one that got locked).

I find your behaviour rather troubling. People like yourself and these types of actions literally add to the concerns people have, rather then allowing open discussion by blocking it and deleting posts you are inherently adding to the problem.

He's trying to block misinformation.

What are you seeking to hide?

Is it bad news relative to the 11 women that became pregnant during one of the trials?

And now you're involving us in a conspiracy theory?

Quote from: Jolly2 on 22/01/2021 22:12:55
Kyrptid is there any news in that regard you know of?

I don't, but I'll let you know if I happen to find any such news. Since I plan on getting the vaccine (I'm guessing next month, by the looks of things), I'll also let you know what side effects I get from it. I give you my word on that. My grandmother received it on Jan 7th and her only side effect appeared to be sleepiness.

Not at all, I'm seeking a logical  justification stopping misinformation doesnt work as the discussion corrects that.  The action may well add to the conspiratorial beliefs of others.

Some people while promoting misinformation  or conspiracies jump on suppression as examples of the conspirators seeking to hide the truth, why its better to just have open discussion.

A perfect example of why conspiracy theory thinking is often irrational.

Well, it isn't (unless the others are keeping it a secret from me).

Ok I hope its finished before the majority of fertile women get the vaccine.

Given how long it will take to get 50% of the population vaccinated (in the United States, at least), that will probably be the case. If the US gets up to the 1 million vaccinations per day goal (which is very possible, since we are vaccinating about 950,000 a day now), then it will take about 145 more days (a bit under 5 months) to vaccinate half the population.
