How do you look at a war? In medieval times it was thought of as a way of deciding who was right and who was wrong. Connected to religion. 'A Trial By Arms' where God would judge who was right and who was wrong by choosing a winner. You still believe in that? Or maybe you think of yourself as cream, always floating to the top? Doesn't matter who wins, and what is right, you will do okay? Or a little of both maybe, God is on your side.

In that case Nazism lost not because they were wrong but because they didn't have the stamina to see it through. And the same goes for Stalin, with the difference that under his life time the USSR stayed the same. Because there is no right and wrong if that's the way you think about life. It all depends on your definitions.

From the first perspective global warming doesn't exist, more or less. Your lifetime is still too short to notice it. Although that will change.

To look at life from the first perspective doesn't make you a bad person, egoistical yeah, but so are others too. But if we connect it to an idea in where right and wrong just becomes a matter of circumstance I would have to change that statement.

It would of course make you very 'adaptive', and so 'successful' as you lack all definitions of what is right and wrong. Instead deferring it to whatever situation you happen to consider yourself to have landed in.
