What you call your social cohesion, and need for hierarchies.

A game of inequality will never want a real democracy.

It's true

Under the game the rules are simple. It's not about patriotism, it's about profits and a market that has become increasingly competitive as some nations still use 'slave labor'. It's a direct result of the game you play and you won't get away from your responsibility. What it does is concentrating those profits to the very few. And as long as your politicians play a weighted game nothing will change. We're at a point today when it should either break down or lead to repressions.

You don't need intelligence to become rich, just greed, ignorance and hubris, sprinkled with egoism.

And why I define it that way is because using intelligence you would step away from it. But you don't.

The American Dream.

" In January 2021, 4,488 institutional investors held investments totaling USD 1.03 trillion in companies operating along the thermal coal value chain. Among the investors covered by the NGOs’ research are pension funds, mutual funds, asset managers, insurance companies, hedge funds, commercial banks, sovereign wealth funds and other types of institutional investors.

The world’s largest institutional investor in the coal industry is the US mutual fund company Vanguard with holdings of almost USD 86 billion. It is closely followed by BlackRock, which holds investments of over USD 84 billion in the coal industry. Together, these two investment giants account for 17% of institutional investments in the global coal industry. Based on their size, BlackRock and Vanguard’s coal investments are in a class of their own, but they are also representative of a much bigger problem. US investors are the single largest provider of institutional investment to companies on the Global Coal Exit List. With shares and bonds in value of USD 602 billion, US investors collectively account for 58% of institutional investments in the global coal industry.

“While many large EU investors have begun screening coal companies out of their portfolios, the vast majority of US investors have refused to adopt coal exit policies. Our research underscores how dire the consequences of this failure are,” says Katrin Ganswindt."

I guess this could be read as a joke.

" Afriland’s lawyer, Eric Moutet, claimed at a press conference in Kinshasa on 25 February 2021 that the two whistleblowers had been sentenced to death by a Kinshasa court in September. The judgment remains untraceable despite numerous requests from PPLAAF and the media. If such a judgment has in fact been handed down, it would represent a terrible blow to the fundamental rights of these whistleblowers. "

How about Russia?
China?
USA?

Whistle blowers has got killed, and will get killed, everywhere.

Saw someone calling Einsteins path to his theory of relativity a 'child-like logic'. Well, your kids know better than you what justice is, don't they? I will take that as a really good judgment of his success, and way of thinking.

The 1.5 C* goal keeps coming back under different disguises.

" If it wasn’t so serious, the premise would almost be comical: oil companies are claiming that not only can they keep their current levels of production, but expand their operations that extract and refine fossil fuels. They would have us believe that by planting trees and using largely unproven, expensive, and thus far inefficient carbon-capture technologies, they can reach “net-zero” and solve the climate crisis – all while continuing to grow fossil fuel production.

This argument is delusional and based on bad science. To have any realistic shot at maintaining a 1.5C world, we need to be winding down and phasing out fossil fuel production, not growing it – as its executives are incentivized to do. "

And so is the idea of 1.5 Centigrade.

And this.

" The Australian government has officially acknowledged the extinction of 13 endemic species, including 12 mammals and the first reptile known to have been lost since European colonisation. The addition of the dozen mammal species confirms Australia’s unenviable position as the world’s capital for mammal extinction, lifting the total number of mammals known to have died out to 34. "

Well, it should be with that as with corona, depending on the reports.  World wide that is.

Tidbits.

"  By December 2020, carbon emissions were 2% higher than in the same month the year before.          Meanwhile, the countries that had made the smallest contributions to green economic stimulus measures, such as China, India, the United States and Brazil, recorded steep carbon rebounds in the second half of last year as their economies began to reopen.

China was the first major economy to emerge from the pandemic and lift restrictions, and the only major economy to grow last year, causing its emissions in the last month of the year to climb 7% higher than the levels in December 2019. Its emissions fell 12% below 2019 levels in February last year, but for the year as a whole China’s carbon emissions were 0.8% above 2019. "

" . Shell recently published its net zero plan, that actually projects high oil and gas production through to 2050 and beyond, which voila, are magically removed with negative emissions. Critically, there is far too little land to plant enough trees to counter today’s emissions, and large-scale hi-tech methods do not yet exist. "

" At least 38 people have been killed after Myanmar’s security forces opened fire on peaceful anti-coup protesters in multiple towns and cities, in the worst day of violence since the military coup last month.  Schraner Burgener said that in conversations with Myanmar’s deputy military chief, Soe Win, she had warned him that the military was likely to face strong measures from some countries and isolation in retaliation for the coup.

“The answer was: ‘We are used to sanctions, and we survived’,” she told reporters in New York. “When I also warned they will go (into) isolation, the answer was: ‘We have to learn to walk with only few friends’.”

The UN security council is expected to hold a closed session on the situation on Friday after the UK requested a meeting.

However, it is unlikely that any coordinated measures will be agreed, as China and Russia have previously blocked attempts to pressure Myanmar’s military. "

" Who is selling weapons to Myanmar?

Most of Myanmar’s military imports come from China, Russia, India, Israel and Ukraine."

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/9/16/who-is-selling-weapons-to-myanmar

" Moths in Britain have declined in abundance by a third over the past 50 years, according to a new study.

The declines of 39% in the abundance of larger moth species over southern Britain and a 22% fall across northern Britain add to the picture of calamitous declines in flying insects in the industrialised world. "

We have a situation in where different 'blocks' support different repressive states with weapons and other types of aid. It's not based on human rights, it's based on profits and real politik. Mostly it is referred to as a question of your ideals. But it doesn't matter does it? Wether it is Yemen or Mayanmar. By selling arms you export repression and murders.

"On the Probability of Nuclear War"  by Martin E. Hellman

https://ee.stanford.edu/~hellman/opinion/inevitability.html

well, the 'roulette wheel' is weighted today, by the dream of limited nuclear battlefields, in where brave men and women run around with nuclear devices, or missiles. All super powers like this idea, all small nuclear powers like it too. The hierarchies like it, your leaders like it. An excuse for 'taking out people' in situations where you otherwise would get coffins coming home.
