My site has a lot of visitors with various post-orgasmic complaints, although its focus is different (sexual relationships). I'm therefore always interested in the experiences of people struggling with POIS.I know there's a belief that a pill will cure POIS, but it's actually looking like the situation is more complex than that. While we're waiting for science to figure it out, I'd just like to report on a behavioral approach that might offer comfort for some of you. I know intimate relationships can be fear-producing when severe post-orgasmic symptoms will inevitably follow orgasm. Just keep in mind that many lovers experience milder forms of neurochemical shifts and related mood and perception changes after orgasm, too. Here's an account of a very sexually active woman (28) who decided to play around with the concept of sex play without orgasm. It might offer you another way of coping. http://www.reuniting.info/node/4466As tribal, pair-bonding primates, we humans get a lot of rewards from friendly interaction, whether with a lover or other companions (pets can help too). The latest research on this point shows that having a mate reduces cortisol levels during stress. http://scienceblog.com/37587/marriage-and-committed-romance-reduce-stress-related-hormone-production/ I share this because I suspect that one way to improve neurochemical balance, and reduce symptoms, is to increase the degree of connection with others.Intriguingly, the ancient Chinese sexologists observed that "frequent sex with occasional ejaculation is less depleting than occasional sex with habitual ejaculation." It may be that frequent affection with virtually no orgasm is an ideal path for those whose brains are very sensitive to the neurochemical changes after orgasm.
Vandemolen3:Low vitamin-D = Low testosterone !http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20050857Reuniting : thank you for article. It's clear that social and love behaviour increase release of oxytocin, causing a regulation of cortisol.
No this all there was on the form.VitD: I will call my familydoctor when the result is final.Testosterone: 6-12 is normal/ on the lower sideA familydoctor will not intervene my himself when the TT is 11. Maybe I have to ask him myself for a test treatment. Or do you know if there 's a vitamin/ pills/ food diet you can buy to bring Testosterone up?
POIS turns up in the strangest places!http://itsonlyfashionblog.com/2010/08/17/its-a-mens-sweater-i-dont-care/lol, see first paragraph.

Demo congrats!!! You've inadvertently found the first case of POIS in a non biological being Maybe the owner of the sweater passed on the POIS to it
Hi everyone. Should I do this? Please let me know! (This is from The Spoof Magazine writer) Hey, [demografx], I was thinking: Would you be willing to be the subject of a formal interview? I would publish it in The Spoof Magazine, which is free form. I always conduct interviews via email, so there is never any question as to the accuracy of quotes. I would ask for a signed release, and offer you the right of final approval before publication. I own all my work published on thespoof.com, and would of course grant you license to do whatever you'd wish with it, including unlimited license to publish for profit. Let me know and we'll discuss in greater detail, OK? Thanks.
Don't use mega dose with Vitamin-D. Mega doses are used for rickets only. 1000 UI a day (during meal for better absorbtion, according to a study).

Living with POIS is a MEGA stressor, I struggle mentally quite a bit both in and out of POIS, so even if there is no direct link for testosterone reduction for POIS suffers, indirectly it must have some sort of significance.Vitamin D3 has a significant impact on total testosterone [1]http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8493042.stm and overall wellbeing, but from my experience, this sentiment isn't shared by the doctors I've consulted in the past. I'm deficient in D3 and soon as I get some of these other blood tests out of the way I'm going to try my hand at mega doses of D3 (5000IU<d3<10000IU superficial doses (400IU what was recommended by my doctor) hasn't worked in my favour to increase my levels and on the surface, vitamin d toxicity is easily recognisable. My argument for trying out mega doses is because one of my colleagues also has a deficiency her levels were slightly below mine and she qualifies for 50000IU injections, weekly till her levels fall into a suitable area in the range.Converse with your doc to discuss options!

I am going to use for a month: Thyrax to raise my T4. And I am going to use vitamin D pills from the drugstore. And then I will go to the doctor and see if I made some progress. Maybe I need a mega dose of vitamin D too. I heard that there is a pill you have to take once a week. And this brings the vitamin D up. From some the vitamin D pills from the shop doesn't work enough. Yes I know that sports help to raise testosterone. After a few weeks when I feel a bit better I am going too the gym again.
Hi Greenwyvern and welcome ! Thank you for L-carnitine.It's coincidence, I was just looking for it Do you suffer of flu-like symptoms during your very long Pois ? (fever or hot flash, joint pains, muscle aches...). What about exercice during Pois days ?
Maybe I will test carnitine. Greenwyvern,How much L-Cartinine do you take ? 500 mg a day ?Does the positive effects come quickly or after some weeks ?

The conversion factor from nmol to ng/ml is 0.4 so your result will be 7.2ng/mlMine was 10.6ng/ml on a reference range of 11.1-42.9Just remembered my mum is on monthly injections, her levels were ~6ng/ml You might have a strong case to be put on injections by your GP if you wish.Heavy squats are also a good way of increasing T levels
Eventually vitamin D deficiency is a symptom of POIS and not a cause (link with endocrine gland parathyroid?)
yesterday it was my Day2, I do sport and after some kilometers I was really tired and concentration and mood start to decrease. I had a bad sleep too. So, exercice has a big effect on my Pois and the best way to avoid symptoms is to be inactive and rest a lot. Maybe I will test carnitine. Greenwyvern,How much L-Cartinine do you take ? 500 mg a day ?Does the positive effects come quickly or after some weeks ?There are some positive articles on Carnitine :http://cme.medscape.com/viewarticle/473414Carnitine is more active than testosterone for improving symptoms of male aging such as sexual dysfunction, depressed mood, and fatigue, according to the results of a randomized study published in the April issue of Urology.(2g a day ; 6 months :/ )
Quote from: martin88 on 19/08/2010 04:22:32Eventually vitamin D deficiency is a symptom of POIS and not a cause (link with endocrine gland parathyroid?)I don't think so. My low Vitamin D is caused by a lack of sun. And I don't use milkproducts, sometime a little bit of cheese.
Even if I wasn't tested for vitamin D I think I can have it too low.
...sun is not recommended by dermatologist associations,
