Question
Hi,
I've read that when matter/antimatter interact they annihilate each other...
As matter cannot be created/destroyed - how do they annihilate?
Shane
Answer
We posed this question to Professor Andy Parker from the High Energy Physics Group at Cambridge University...
Andy - Well they have opposite quantum characteristics, is the technical answer and so, once you put them together you get a kind of null state which has nothing left except its energy.
