"Kids these days know more about Pikachu than Jemima Puddleduck!"Cambridge's children are losing touch with nature, according to a report in Science this week. A survey conducted by zoologists at Cambridge University shown that eight year old children are better at recognising Pokemon characters than wild animals. Over 100 children were asked to identify pictures of local species such as badgers, for example. On average they only recognised 50% of local species but scored an impressive 80% when the same test was performed using Pokemon characters instead. This doesn't bode well for the environmental movement in years to come!
