If you smoke, you are more likely to become depressed, a recent study has found. A survey of a large group of initially happy teenagers, found that those who were smokers were at a higher risk of becoming depressed over the following year. The researchers then looked at another group of teenagers, out of which some were depressed, and found that depression did not predispose them to becoming a smoker.
