A 1935 autopsy specimen from an adult male resident in an endemic area of Chagas disease, Minas Gerais, Brazil. No clinical history is abalable before his sudden death from an embolism of the left middle cerebral artery. All chambers of the heart are dilated and the walls of the atria are attenuated. Mural thrombus is present at the apices of both ventricles and partly organised thrombus extends into the cavity of the left ventricle.
