Gastrointestinal pathology: Oesophagus: Squamous carcinoma with a fistula

A 1939 autopsy specimen from a 40 year old nurse who experienced difficulty in swallowing in September 1938. In December she started to complain of chest pain. On investigation she was found to have a mediastinal mass with liver secondaries. She was treated conservatively dying in February 1939.
