Coelomic spread of carcinoma of the colon

An 1861 autopsy specimen from a 32 year old woman admitted for enlargement of the abdomen. She died a week after her admission. At autopsy a mucinous tumour was found in the ascending colon and there were numerous secondary deposits in the omentum, mesentery and lymphatic glands.
