Hepato-biliary Pathology: Liver: Well encapsulated hydatid cyst

An autopsy specimen from a 62 year old woman who died of cerebral infarction. This piece of liver contains an old well-encapsulated hydatid cyst, its capsule is patchily calcified surrounding a much folded white semi-gelatinous membrane.
