A 1963 autopsy specimen from Sao Paulo, Brazil. The specimen consists of a segment of sigmoid colon from an adult brazilian who died of cardiac failure in the late stages of American trypanosomiasis (Chagas disease). The whole colon was grossly dilated, measured more than 6 feet in length and contained about 10 kgs of faeces.
