Infectious disease: Oesophagus/Intestine/Testis: HIV: Lymphoma
01 August 2011
Presented by Sebastian Lucas.
Autopsy specimens from a 35 year old male with known HIV infection. He was admitted to hospital with diarrhoea and hiccups and was noted to have lymphadenopathy in the left axilla, a right testicular mass and a distended abdomen. He died of peritonitis. Histopathology showed high grade non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Such high grade non-Hodgkins lymphoma in unusual sites is a frequent malignancy in terminal HIV/AIDS disease.
