A 1963 autopsy specimen from the Mayo clinic. The specimen is a slice of lung from a fatal case of acute disseminatednocardiosisoccurring in an American boy aged 7 years old. The lung shows multiple firm, whitish nodules scattered throughout the parenchyma. N. asteroides was isolated from material obtained at bronchoscopy.
