If you need glasses but don't wear them, will your eyesight get worse?

1. When a person crosses 40, sooner or later he will develop an eye condition called presbyopia. This condition could be corrected with the help of appropriate glasses. My question is that if a person refuses to wear glasses, will his eyesight deteriorate further or will remain in status quo?
