An autopsy specimen from a 42 year old man admitted with a six week history of colic often with bouts of vomiting. The abdomen was distended high in the midline and high intestinal obstruction was confirmed by a barium meal. A tumour of the jejunum was resected, small metastases being found in the adjacent peritoneum. Recovery followed.
