Typhoid ulceration of the GI tract


An 1864 autopsy specimen from a 36 year old man admitted for stricture of the urethra. When about to be discharged, after a week's treatment, he was suddenly seized with vomiting and collapse and died in seven hours. Faecal peritonitis was found at post mortem.
