Frederik Seersholm
About
Frederik graduated from the University of Copenhagen in 2015 with a MSc in Molecular Biomedicine. During his Master’s thesis Frederik combined his passion for archaeology with his interest in science to specialise in ancient DNA research. More specifically, Frederik studied DNA from soil in the Arctic to characterise prehistoric hunting practices.
In 2016 Frederik moved to Perth, Western Australia, to pursue a PhD at Curtin University, where he applies ancient DNA methods to study how biodiversity have changed historically both before and under human influence. When Frederik is not busy in the ancient DNA clean lab, he enjoys windsurfing with the dolphins in the Swan River, Perth.
